Drowning

Under the benevolent moon
lays a tired maiden
asleep after a viciousbattle
between love and its poison

She knows not the world
Only her familiar pain
Defined by her sence of punishment
and her wrist the blade slain

Shw looms in the darkness
so that the light is dear
she reaches so desperately for it
but then her cloths begin to tear

Worn down by the demons
her cloths are tattered and torn
until she lies naked
like a baby born

completely exposed
barely alive or awake
she sighs and gives way
her body to the lake

but then the waters disturbed
Hark, a voice loud and grand
desperatly pleading
to quickly take my hand

I'll try to keep you above water
please believe me its true
I'll save you from drowning
Or I'll go down with you.
